Mike has a background in international relations from the University of California, Davis. He started his career in the public sector as a data analyst and public policy administrator.
Before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, he worked as a design-first product manager at an enterprise software company. In that role, he developed a deep understanding of a variety of needs and pain points related to workplace communication and collaboration.
His experience spans working with local governments, CBOs, and nonprofits, taking a human-centered approach to building products. He is currently a software engineer, and has developed technology for domestic violence agencies, frontline workers in social services, and most recently organizations helping the unhoused.
In 2023, he participated in the Blue Ridge Labs Fellowship. During that program, he grew to value the importance of first-hand, lived experience, not just in creating products but also in understanding community needs.
A-Intake is an iteration on that work.
